PranaMind Institute for Brain Wellness Expansion
The PranaMind Institute for Brain Wellness (PIBW) is requesting funding for the PranaMind Institute for Brain Wellness: Infrastructure Expansion of Community Mental Health Services project. The funding will be used to build a new Community Mental Health outpatient facility from the ground up on its current site in Alameda County. In addition, PIBW received a grant from the Alameda County Board of Supervisors to be used for preliminary costs and transition to temporary space during the construction of the project. PranaMind Center will provide additional funding from operational revenue in the event of cost overruns.
The project is currently in Phase 2: Design Development with a projected completion in December 2027. The new facility expands current service levels for MediCal patients to address the mental health and wellness disparities currently being experienced by BIPOC, unhoused people, veterans, older adults, adults with disabilities, children, youth, families, and justice-involved youth and adults.
PIBW was formed in 2013 to address unmet need for comprehensive brain-based services. It is the only community mental health clinic designed to address the assessment, prevention, and treatment of brain-based childhood psychiatric disorders as well as mild cognitive impairment, subjective cognitive impairment, and Alzheimer’s disease in BIPOC and re-entry populations. PIBW is the sole Biofeedback Certification International Alliance facility certified to provide the latest neuro-technologies and appropriate holistic, culturally evidence-based mental health services (i.e., psychotherapy, CBT, neurofeedback, psycho-nutrition, and African-based psychology) to underserved populations and communities.
